The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 11-6. But Oradea won second period 14-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rapid dominated on the defensive end, holding Oradea to just 6 points in first quarter. They held Oradea to an opponent 23.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Rapid forced 27 Oradea turnovers. Strangely Oradea outrebounded Rapid 50-27 including a 26-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Moldovan guard Natalia Burlakova (175-84) who helped to win the game recording 23 points. Guard Elena Constantin (167-86) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American Tanisha McTiller (172-92, college: Towson) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 18 rebounds and the other American import center Quentori Alford (190, college: Alabama St.) added 10 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Oradea.
