Regular Season Round 29: Valga Kalev - Parnu 80-71

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Valga Kalev's (14-15) home victory over 6th ranked KK Parnu (12-17) 80-71 on Saturday. KK Parnu trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 25-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-80 at the end of the game. Latvian center Jurijs Aleksejevs (202-85) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. Latvian guard Reinis Strupovics (192-87) contributed with 27 points for the winners. Serbian power forward Nemanja Miljkovic (204-90) answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Rannar Raap (188-92) added 14 points in the effort for KK Parnu. KK Parnu's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Valga Kalev maintains fifth place with 14-15 record. Loser KK Parnu keeps the sixth position with 17 games lost. Valga Kalev will face higher ranked TYCO Rapla (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KK Parnu will play against the league's leader TU/Rock and hope to win that game.
