Regular Season Round 42: Hokkaido L. - Hiroshima D. 76-54

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Dragonflies (19-25) against sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (15-31) on Saturday night. Visiting Dragonflies were crushed by Hokkaido L. in Saporro 76-54. It looked good early as Dragonflies took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hokkaido L. had a 20-13 second period charge getting the lead and Dragonflies were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 54-76. The best player for the winners was American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) chipped in 9 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas, agency: APAA Sports Group) who recorded 13 points and 9 rebounds and international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85, agency: APAA Sports Group) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hokkaido L. maintains sixth position with 15-31 record. Newly promoted Dragonflies keep the third place with 25 games lost. Hokkaido L.'s next round opponent will be Wakayama T. (#6) on the road. Dragonflies will play against Toshiba Thunders and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
