Regular Season Round 47: Yokohama BC - Fukushima 91-106

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Yokohama BC (11-32) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Fukushima (17-28) 106-91 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 106-91. Fukushima shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Yokohama BC was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Masaya Karimata (178-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 9 assists. American guard Verdell Jones III (195-89, college: Indiana) helped adding 30 points and 7 assists. American forward Carl Hall (201-89, college: Wichita St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Kenji Yamada (180-83) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 assists. Four Fukushima and five Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Fukushima have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Oita H.Devils and Shimane SM. Yokohama BC lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 32 games lost. Fukushima will have a break next round. Yokohama BC will play again at home against Fukushima (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
