Regular Season Round 42: Toshiba BT - Aishin SH 75-76

Third-ranked Toshiba Thunders (30-13) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Aishin Sea Horses (38-6) in Kanagawa on Saturday. The visitors from Kariya managed to secure only one-point victory 76-75. However their fans expected easier game. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 28-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds. International swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) contributed with 25 points for the winners. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and the former international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) added 16 points in the effort for Toshiba Thunders. Toshiba Thunders' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aishin Sea Horses have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 38-6 record. Defending champion Toshiba Thunders keep the third place with 13 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses are looking forward to face Toyota Alvark (#4) in Tokyo in the next round. Toshiba Thunders will play on the road against Dragonflies in Hiroshima and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
