Second Stage Round 9: Genova - Crema 48-67

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Genova (1-7) was crushed at home by fourth ranked Team Crema (4-4) 67-48 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Team Crema. Genova was better in second period 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Team Crema forced 21 Genova turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Paola Caccialanza (175-89) who scored 21 points and 5 steals. Forward Martina Picotti (184-90) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Team Crema's coach Luca Visconti used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Sara De Scalzi (176-83) who recorded 14 points and 8 rebounds and guard Chiara Principi (175-88) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Team Crema maintains fourth place in A2 with 4-4 record. Loser Genova keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Team Crema will face Marinella (#5) in Santa Marinella in the next round. Genova will play on the road against the league's leader San Pietro and hope to win that game.
