The game in Maracay supposed to be also quite interesting. 7th ranked Gigantes (7-12) played at the court of eighth ranked Toros (5-12). Toros smashed Gigantes 87-63 on Saturday. The game without a history. Toros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Gigantes' 32. They outrebounded Gigantes 47-27 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Toros looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) fired 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Rafael Perez (193-82, agency: Paris Global Sports) chipped in 19 points. Five Toros players scored in double figures. The former international forward Axiers Sucre (199-78) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Michael Flores (192-85) added 6 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toros maintains eighth place with 5-12 record. Loser Gigantes keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. Toros will again meet at home higher ranked Gigantes (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
