An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Pontevedra. First ranked GDKO Bizkaia faced 4th ranked Arxil Pontevedra. Guests from Galdakao (18-2) defeated host Arxil Pontevedra (14-6) 53-42. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Arxil Pontevedra. The game was mostly controlled by GDKO Bizkaia. Arxil Pontevedra managed to win third quarter 14-10. Worth to mention a great performance of American Margaret Roundtree (183-88, college: Gardner-Webb) who helped to win the game recording 9 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Ainara Ramasco (172-89) who added 5 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Roundtree is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. GDKO Bizkaia's coach Inigo Sainz de Trapaga used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Senegalese center Maimouna Diarra (198-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and American Fallon Lewis (183-92, college: Wyoming) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. GDKO Bizkaia have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 18-2 record. Loser Arxil Pontevedra dropped to the third place with six games lost. They share the position with Aros Leon and Cortegada. GDKO Bizkaia will meet Aros Leon (#4) on the road in the next round. Arxil Pontevedra will play against ADBA in Aviles and hope to secure a win.
