Regular Season Round 13: MIA Academy - Dinamo Tbilisi 91-63

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Dinamo Tbilisi (10-3) on the court of third ranked MIA on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by MIA 91-63. The game without a history. MIA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 56.3 percentage. MIA looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Forward Akaki Lomouri (198-91) stepped up and scored 27 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and international Nika Metreveli (211-91, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American center Garrick Sherman (210-90, college: Notre Dame) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Giorgi Gamqrelidze (183-86) scored 15 points and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. MIA maintains third place with 9-4 record behind leader Dinamo Tbilisi. Defending champion Dinamo Tbilisi still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Kutaisi. MIA are looking forward to face league's second-placed Kutaisi at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dinamo Tbilisi will play against Energy Invest in Rustavi and is hoping to win this game.
