Regular Season Round 26: Bourg - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 88-67
Date: March 28, 2015
Bottom-ranked JL Bourg managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the three-game losing streak. This time newly promoted JL Bourg outleveled thirteenth-ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez 88-67. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 21-point difference suggests that JL Bourg is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game was mostly controlled by JL Bourg. Pau-Lacq-Orthez was better in second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JL Bourg forced 22 Pau-Lacq-Orthez turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. American center Devin Booker (206-91, college: Clemson) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) to lead the effort and the other American import point guard Jordan Theodore (182-89, college: Seton Hall) supported him with 17 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Even 14 points by Serbian forward Marko Simonovic (201-86, agency: Beo Basket) did not help to save the game for Pau-Lacq-Orthez. American forward Antywane Robinson (203-84, college: Temple) added 10 points for the guests. Five JL Bourg and four Pau-Lacq-Orthez players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JL Bourg (6-20) moved-up to seventeenth place. Pau-Lacq-Orthez at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. JL Bourg will play against higher ranked Cholet Basket (#15) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket and hopes to get back on the winning track.
