Very expected game when 7th ranked Shinshu BW (18-26) was rolled over on the road by second ranked Akita Happinets (36-10) 104-83 on Sunday. The game without a history. Akita Happinets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 46. Akita Happinets looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Richard Roby (198-85) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import forward Deshawn Stephens (203-89, college: San Diego St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Somalian forward Mohamed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) who recorded 28 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio) added 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Akita Happinets maintains second position with 36-10 record behind leader Kyoto Hannar., which they share with Hamamatsu P. Shinshu BW lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 26 games lost. Akita Happinets will have a break next round. Shinshu BW will play at home against Gunma (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
