Regular Season Round 48: Yokohama BC - Fukushima 98-63

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Yokohama BC (12-32) smashed at home 8th ranked Fukushima (17-29) 98-63 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Yokohama BC. Fukushima was better in third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Fukushima 46-22 including a 40-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Carl Hall (201-89, college: Wichita St.) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import guard Warren Niles (196-89, college: ORU, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 30 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Yokohama BC's coach Michael Katsuhisa felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) who recorded 20 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Masaya Karimata (178-88) added 16 points, 8 assists and 5 steals respectively. Yokohama BC maintains tenth position with 12-32 record. Newly promoted Fukushima dropped to the seventh place with 29 games lost. Yokohama BC will face Tokyo Cinq R. (#11) on the road in the next round.
