Regular Season Round 42: Mitsubishi DD - Toyota Alvark 58-70

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (25-18) against fourth ranked Toyota Alvark (29-14) on Sunday night. Host Mitsubishi Dolphins unexpectedly were defeated by in Nagoya 58-70. It looked good early as Mitsubishi Dolphins took a 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Toyota Alvark took control winning two of next three quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 12 points. American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and center Dieye Sakamoto (206) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. Mitsubishi Dolphins' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Toyota Alvark have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 29-14 record. Mitsubishi Dolphins lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the second place with 18 games lost. Toyota Alvark will play against league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play at home against the league's leader Hitachi Sunrockers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
