Regular Season Round 42: Tsukuba R. - Kumamoto V. 77-67

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Tsukuba R. (5-40) beat at home 5th ranked Kumamoto V. (6-38) 77-67 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 49-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American forward Duke Crews (203-88, college: Bowie St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The other American import power forward Lamar Sanders (198-84, college: Lamar) contributed with 6 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Tsukuba R.'s coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Garlon Green (201-91, college: TCU) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Keita Takata added 15 points and 6 assists in the effort for Kumamoto V.Tsukuba R. maintains seventh position with 5-40 record. Kumamoto V. at the other side keeps the fifth place with 38 games lost. Tsukuba R. will face higher ranked Hyogo S. (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kumamoto V. will play against the league's second-placed Tochigi Brex where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
