Regular Season Round 48: Bambitious Nara - Shiga L-Stars 61-80

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Bambitious Nara (12-34) was crushed at home by fourth ranked Shiga L-Stars (28-16) 80-61 on Sunday. The game without a history. Shiga L-Stars led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bambitious Nara to just 5 points in second quarter. Shiga L-Stars dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Bambitious Nara's 30. They outrebounded Bambitious Nara 44-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shiga L-Stars made 7 blocks. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia, agency: Haylett Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shiga L-Stars maintains fourth position with 28-16 record. Bambitious Nara lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 34 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face Saitama Broncos (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
