Regular Season Round 26: Toros - Gigantes 83-77

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Maracay where eighth ranked Toros (6-12) defeated 7th ranked Gigantes (7-13) 83-77 on Sunday. Gigantes were trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 28-20 charge of Toros, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 Gigantes turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) who scored 21 points and 4 assists. The former international swingman Rafael Perez (193-82, agency: Paris Global Sports) chipped in 16 points. The former international forward Axiers Sucre (199-78) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Michael Flores (192-85) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toros maintains eighth position with 6-12 record. Gigantes lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 13 games lost. Toros will have a break next round.
