Regular Season Round 42: Chiba Jets - Hyogo S. 72-48
Date: March 29, 2015
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Hyogo S. (15-28) was outscored on the road by fifth ranked Chiba Jets (28-17) 72-48 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Chiba Jets. Hyogo S. was better in third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hyogo S. to just 3 points in first quarter. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for guard Paris Horne (191-87, college: St.John's) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and swingman William Knight (196-79, college: UCLA) added 6 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hyogo S.Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chiba Jets maintains fifth position with 28-17 record. Hyogo S. at the other side keeps the fourth place with 28 games lost. Chiba Jets will have a break next round. Hyogo S. will play at home against Tsukuba R. (#7) and hope to win that game.
