There was no surprise when 12th ranked Lyon (5-19) was defeated on the road by third ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (18-6) 77-59. The game was mostly controlled by Villeneuve D'Ascq. Lyon was better in third quarter 21-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Villeneuve D'Ascq dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Lyon's 36. The winners were led by the former international forward Geraldine Robert (183-80, agency: Comsport) who scored that evening 16 points and 6 rebounds and Belgian center Ann Wauters (194-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) supported her with 18 points. Four Villeneuve D'Ascq players scored in double figures. Villeneuve D'Ascq's coach Frederic Dusart allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games.
