Regular Season Round 24: Union Hainaut - Arras 82-78

Bottom-ranked Union Hainaut managed to get a third victory, breaking the seventeen-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time they won against seventh-ranked Arras in Saint-Amand 82-78. Arras was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 20-13 charge of Union Hainaut, which allowed them to win the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Union Hainaut looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Senegalese power forward Astou Traore (182-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Adja Konteh (178-92, agency: Comsport) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!). Four Union Hainaut players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Mali center Djene Diawara (192-85, agency: Comsport) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 19 rebounds and American guard Maggie Lucas (178-91, college: Penn St.) added 17 points respectively. Union Hainaut (3-21) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with COB Calais. Arras lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. Union Hainaut is looking forward to face COB Calais (#13) on the road in the next round. Arras will play against Nantes Reze (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
