Eleventh ranked Tuscany Pistoia won an overtime thriller edging 8th ranked AV Cantu by one point 88-87. AV Cantu was tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they could not keep up in overtime eventually losing that period 9-10. Tuscany Pistoia made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American guard C.J. Williams (196-90, college: N.Carolina St.) who scored that evening 25 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import point guard Langston Hall (193-91, college: Mercer) supported him with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Even 16 points and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) by American forward Metta World Peace (201-79, college: St.John's, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for AV Cantu. Dominican-American guard James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) added 13 points and 7 rebounds. Five Tuscany Pistoia and four AV Cantu players scored in double figures. Tuscany Pistoia (10-13) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with defeated AV Cantu. Tuscany Pistoia will play against higher ranked Enel Brindisi (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AV Cantu will play against Upea CdO and hopes to get back on the winning track.
