Regular Season Round 25: Galil Gilboa - Bnei Hertzeliyya 98-83

There was a surprise result in Rosh Pina where twelfth ranked Galil Gilboa (7-18) defeated higher ranked Bnei Hasharon (11-14) 98-83 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Galil Gilboa. Bnei Hasharon was better in fourth quarter 32-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bnei Hasharon was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. Swingman Alex Young (198-89, college: IUPUI, agency: Two Points) stepped up and scored 26 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners and power forward Marcus Lewis (205-86, college: ORU) chipped in 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). At the losing side forward Jasper Johnson (203-83, college: Delta St.) responded with 22 points and power forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas, agency: Alti Sport) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five Galil Gilboa and four Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. Galil Gilboa moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Bnei Hasharon at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 14 games lost. Galil Gilboa will face higher ranked Maccabi Haifa (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
