Very important is a road loss of second ranked GECR Indalo (26-16) against seventh ranked Bahia Basket (18-26) on Tuesday night. Visiting GECR Indalo was defeated by Bahia Basket in a tough game in Bahia Blanca 73-77. It looked good early as GECR Indalo took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bahia Basket had a 20-7 second period charge getting the lead and GECR Indalo was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-77. Bahia Basket dominated on the defensive end, holding GECR Indalo to just 7 points in second quarter. Bahia Basket forced 20 GECR Indalo turnovers. The winners were led by the former international point guard Diego Gerbaudo (178-89) who scored that evening 24 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and forward Lisandro Rasio (198-90) supported him with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds by American center Sam Clancy (202-80, college: USC) did not help to save the game for GECR Indalo. The former international Diego Guaita (203-83) added 10 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Five GECR Indalo players scored in double figures. Bahia Basket moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Boca Jrs. GECR Indalo at the other side keeps the second position with 16 games lost. Bahia Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. GECR Indalo will play at home against Lanus and hopes to get back on the winning track.
