Regular Season Round 24: Hapoel Migd.H. - Hapoel G/A 63-61

The most exciting game of round 24 in the National League took place in Tarshicha. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th ranked Hapoel Afula (15-9) to second ranked Hapoel Migd.H. (18-6) 63-61 on Tuesday evening. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 18-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import Chris Gaston (201-89, college: Fordham) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Hapoel Migd.H.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and point guard Guy Lavie (188-92) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Four Hapoel Afula players scored in double figures. Hapoel Migd.H. have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-6 record behind leader Ironi K-A, which they share with Maccabi K/G. Hapoel Afula at the other side keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Netanya. Hapoel Migd.H. is looking forward to face GreenTops Netanya (#4) on the road in the next round. Hapoel Afula will play against Elitzur Ramla and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
