There was a surprise result in Belo Horizonte where tenth ranked Palmeiras (13-16) defeated higher ranked Minas (17-12) 73-68 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-68. Palmeiras forced 20 Minas turnovers. The former international swingman Diego Pinheiro (195-80) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and Italian-Argentinian point guard Maximiliano Stanic (178-78, agency: Players Group) chipped in 6 points and 9 assists. Four Palmeiras players scored in double figures. point guard Henrique Coelho (183-93) responded with 8 points and 7 assists and the former international power forward Shilton Santos (198-82) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds.
