Important game to mention about took place in Valencia. Eighth ranked Toros (7-13) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Trotamundos (10-8) 71-69 on Wednesday evening. Trotamundos were ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 38-35 second half run of Toros. It was a great evening for American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import power forward Anthony Laveal Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds. Toros' coach Gustavo Garcia allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Nigerian center Kenny Adeleke (205-83, college: Hartford) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and the former international Dwight Lewis (197-87, college: USC) scored 16 points. Toros maintains eighth place with 7-13 record. Trotamundos at the other side keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Toros will play against higher ranked Cocodrilos (#4) in Caracas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Trotamundos will play at home against Gaiteros and hope to get back on the winning track.
