Regular Season Round 25: Tarbes - Mondeville 83-73

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Mondeville (9-16) lost on the road to sixth ranked Tarbes (15-10) 83-73 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Tarbes. Mondeville was better in second period 19-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Tarbes won last quarter 24-16. They made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for Greek forward Styliani Kaltsidou (188-83, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 4 assists. American center Alicia DeVaughn (193-91, college: Maryland, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. American forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) answered with 25 points and 4 assists and Belgian point guard Julie Vanloo (172-93, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 15 points in the effort for Mondeville. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Tarbes. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Angers. Loser Mondeville dropped to the tenth position with 16 games lost. Tarbes will face Union Hainaut (#13) in Saint-Amand in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mondeville will play at home against Lyon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
