Regular Season Round 25: COB Calais - Union Hainaut 70-94

Date: April 1, 2015
Bottom-ranked Union Hainaut managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they outleveled thirteenth-ranked COB Calais 94-70. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 24-point difference proves that Union Hainaut was well-prepared to that game. The game was mostly controlled by Union Hainaut. COB Calais was better in fourth quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding COB Calais to just 5 points in third quarter. Union Hainaut made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 COB Calais turnovers. DR Congolese power forward Pauline Akonga Nsimbo (188-82, agency: LBM Management) stepped up and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Senegalese power forward Astou Traore (182-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds. Five Union Hainaut players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Arhonda Covington (185-85, college: Louisville) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and forward Jenny Fouasseau (179-92) scored 17 points and 5 assists. Union Hainaut (4-21) moved-up to thirteenth place. Newly promoted COB Calais dropped to the bottom. Union Hainaut will play against higher ranked Tarbes (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. COB Calais will play against Nantes Reze (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
