Regular Season Round 30: Haukar - KR 69-52

Very expected game in Hafnarfjordur where 7th ranked KR (5-23) was defeated by third ranked Haukar (18-10) 69-52 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Haukar. KR managed to win fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to KR's 24. They outrebounded KR 51-33 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Haukar looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 21 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Forward Audur Olafsdottir (173-92) chipped in 5 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Simone Holmes who recorded 15 points and guard Bjorg Einarsdottir (162-92) added 6 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Haukar maintains third position with 18-10 record having seven points less than leader Snaefell. Loser KR keeps the seventh place with 23 games lost.
