Interkhim used overtime to escape with a narrow road win over Frankivsk in the opening game of the semifinal series. Frankivsk was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 12-10 charge of Interkhim, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 12-7. Interkhim made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Forward Kateryna Kovalyova (185-89) stepped up and scored 21 points and 4 assists for the winners and forward Olga Borisenko (185-90) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws).
