Regular Season Round 27: Antibes - Lille 66-68

A very interesting game took place in Antibes. It ended with only two-point home defeat of higher ranked Olympique Antibes (16-11) to fourteenth ranked Lille Metropole (11-17) 68-66 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Olympique Antibes won third quarter 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lille Metropole had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Croatian center Franko Kastropil (212-84, agency: PEPI SPORT) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. American guard B.A. Walker (188-84, college: VCU) accounted for 13 points and 4 assists for the winning side. American Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import point guard Willie Solomon (187-78, college: Clemson, agency: Interperformances) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Olympique Antibes in the defeat. Four Lille Metropole and five Olympique Antibes players scored in double figures. Olympique Antibes' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Lille Metropole maintains fourteenth place with 11-17 record. Olympique Antibes at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Lille Metropole's next round opponent will be Aix-Maurienne (#17) in Aix-les-Bains. Olympique Antibes will play on the road against ALM Evreux (#10) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
