Regular Season Round 27: Nantes - Monaco 77-79

Sixth-ranked Nantes (15-12) made lots of trouble for first ranked Monaco (21-6) on Friday. The visitors from Monaco managed to secure only two-point victory 79-77. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Nantes. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 20-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American swingman Quincy Taylor (195-82, college: UAB) who scored 14 points. Guard Hugo Dumortier (196-93) chipped in 18 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) who recorded 19 points and the other American import power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Monaco have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Newly promoted Monaco maintains first place with 21-6 record, which they share with Hyeres-Toulon. Nantes at the other side keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Roanne and Orchy. Monaco is looking forward to face Fos Ouest (#13) in Fos-sur-Mer in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Nantes will play on the road against Souffelweyersheim (#15) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
