Second Stage Round 20: GOCOR-Sozh - Grodno-93 70-108

Leader Grodno-93 delivered the twenty sixth victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked GOCOR-Sozh (12-17) 108-70 in Gomel. The game without a history. Grodno-93 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding GOCOR-Sozh to just 6 points in second quarter. Grodno-93 dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to GOCOR-Sozh's 40 and made 16-of-17 charity shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Grodno-93 forced 19 GOCOR-Sozh turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. International guard Kiril Sitnik (190-89, agency: Mike Diesel) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international guard Dzmitry Kuzmin (196-75) contributed with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Ukrainian forward Ivan Kaliayev (201-87) replied with 21 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and center Viachaslau Skidan (205-85) added 19 points in the effort for GOCOR-Sozh. Five Grodno-93 and four GOCOR-Sozh players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Grodno-93 (26-3) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position. GOCOR-Sozh lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 17 games lost.
