Very predictable result when seventh ranked UB Chartres (18-11) defeated at home 14th ranked Quimper UJAP (12-16) 84-76 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 52-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. UB Chartres looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-84) scored 23 points to lead the charge for the winners and Bahamas forward Bennet Davis (204-84, college: Northeastern, agency: KMG Sports Management) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Romain Gregoire (200-91) with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Portuguese point guard Miguel Cardoso (188-93) scored 14 points and 5 assists. Five Quimper UJAP players scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. UB Chartres moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Challans. Loser Quimper UJAP keeps the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. UB Chartres will face Mulhouse Basket (#8) on the road in the next round. Quimper UJAP will play against GET Vosges (#9) and hope to win that game.
