Regular Season Round 21: Sant Adria - Alcobendas 69-71

The most exciting game of round 21 in the LF2 took place in Sant Adria de Besos. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th placed Sant Adria (13-8) to second ranked Alcobendas (17-4) 71-69 on Saturday evening. Sant Adria was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Alcobendas made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Strangely Sant Adria outrebounded Alcobendas 43-30 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Allison Feaster-Strong (181-76, college: Harvard) who led her team to a victory with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Center Monica Garrido (185-82) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Alcobendas players scored in double figures. Center Olga Ruano (191-88, agency: Regeneracom Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Ainhoa Lopez (180-97) added 17 points in the effort for Sant Adria. Sant Adria's coach Jordi Vizcaino rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Alcobendas have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place in Group B with 17-4 record having just two points less than leader GDKO Bizkaia. Newly promoted Sant Adria dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Dist.Olimpico. Alcobendas are looking forward to face ASEFA Estudiantes (#8) in Madrid in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sant Adria will play on the road against Dist.Olimpico in Madrid and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
