There was no surprise in Reggio Calabria where 16th ranked Piacentina (7-21) was defeated by fourth ranked Reggio Calabr. (17-10) 76-68. Piacentina was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 39-27 second half run of Reggio Calabr.. The winners were led by American point guard Michael Deloach (183-86, college: Norfolk St.) who scored that evening 39 points (!!!) and 4 assists and power forward Marco Ammannato (202-88, agency: Players Group) supported him with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Even 20 points and 7 rebounds by Lithuanian swingman Paulius Sorokas (200-92) did not help to save the game for Piacentina. Power forward Francesco Infante (200-92) added 15 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Four Piacentina players scored in double figures. Reggio Calabr. moved-up to third place, which they share with Ferrara and Treviglio. Newly promoted Piacentina stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost. They share it with Matera. Reggio Calabr. will play against Chieti (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Piacentina will play against Scafati (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
