Regular Season Round 43: Mitsubishi DD - Hitachi SR 73-86

The game between closely ranked teams ended with their biggest opponent Mitsubishi Dolphins' (25-20) home loss to first ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (39-7) 73-86 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-73. At the losing side Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) responded with 28 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Brendan Lane (206-90, college: Pepperdine) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for Hitachi Sunrockers. They maintain first place with 39-7 record. Mitsubishi Dolphins lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the second position with 20 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play on the road against Chiba Jets and hope to win that game.
