Everything went according to plan when third ranked Leganes (16-5) outplayed at home 9th ranked UCAM Jairis (6-15) 76-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Leganes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Leganes outrebounded UCAM Jairis 49-31 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for center Alejandra De La Fuente (193-88) who led her team to a victory with 9 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Lithuanian power forward Dovile Miliauskaite (187-89, college: Towson, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Leganes players scored in double figures. Rwandan-American guard Tierra Henderson (178-87, college: UCLA) answered with 13 points and 8 rebounds and forward Ana-Carlota Faussurier (188-94, college: Arkansas) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for UCAM Jairis. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Leganes. They maintain third place in Group B with 16-5 record having just three points less than leader GDKO Bizkaia. Newly promoted UCAM Jairis keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Leganes will face Andratx (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. UCAM Jairis will play against C.Adelantados and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
