Regular Season Round 43: Wakayama T. - Hokkaido L. 65-88

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Wakayama T.'s (5-41) home loss to sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (17-31) 65-88 on Saturday. The game without a history. Hokkaido L. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hokkaido L. forced 20 Wakayama T. turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Hokkaido L. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Tomokazu Abe (180-85) helped adding 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American power forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and Nigerian center Cyril Awere (211-85) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hokkaido L. maintains sixth place with 17-31 record. Wakayama T. lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 41 games lost. Hokkaido L. will face higher ranked Kumamoto V. (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Wakayama T. will play against Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa and hope to win that game.
