An interesting game took place in Roseto where higher ranked Roseto (13-15) was upset on its own court by fourteenth ranked Latina Basket (11-17) 101-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Roseto. The game without a history. Latina Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-25 charity shots (88.0 percent) during the game. Latina Basket had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Roseto was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by guard Marco Portannese (192-89, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Luca Ianes (203-80, agency: SPORTlab Agency) supported him with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Five Latina Basket players scored in double figures. Even 34 points (!!!) by American point guard Damier Pitts (177-89, college: Marshall) did not help to save the game for Roseto. Naturalized Cuban guard Yankiel Moreno (190-90, agency: Interperformances) added 10 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Latina Basket moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Legnano. Roseto at the other side keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Omegna. Latina Basket will play against Matera (#15) at home in the next round. Roseto will play against Ravenna (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
