Regular Season Round 27: Nanterre - Chalons-Reims 106-88

No shocking result in a game when second ranked JSF Nanterre (22-5) defeated at home 7th ranked Chalons-Reims (14-13) 106-88. The game was mostly controlled by JSF Nanterre. Chalons-Reims was better in third quarter 28-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JSF Nanterre players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American Jamal Shuler (191-86) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard T.J. Campbell (175-88, college: Portland) accounted for 15 points and 9 assists for the winning side. JSF Nanterre's coach Pascal Donadieu allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman Mark Payne (203-88, college: Cal-Davis) came up with 20 points and swingman Michel Morandais (196-79, college: Colorado) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Chalons-Reims in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. JSF Nanterre have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 22-5 record behind leader Strasbourg. Newly promoted Chalons-Reims keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. JSF Nanterre's next round opponent will be Entente Orleans 45 (#16) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Chalons-Reims will play against Chalon/Saor (#12) and hope to win that game.
