Regular Season Round 27: Orleans - Nancy 71-80

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Entente Orleans 45 (8-19) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Sluc Nancy (16-11) 80-71. The guests were already 17 points ahead at halftime and as many as 20 after three quarters before a 24-13 last quarter charge of Entente Orleans 45 cut the lead to 80-71 at the end of the game. It was a great shooting night for Sluc Nancy especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American Vaughn Duggins (190-87, college: Wright St.) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 4 assists. The former international Florent Pietrus (202-81) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American swingman David Noel (199-84, college: N.Carolina) came up with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import point guard Darnell Harris (183-86, college: La Salle) added 17 points respectively for Entente Orleans 45 in the defeat. Four Entente Orleans 45 players scored in double figures. Sluc Nancy maintains fourth place with 16-11 record. Entente Orleans 45 at the other side keeps the sixteenth position with 19 games lost. Sluc Nancy's next round opponent will be league's leader Strasbourg IG at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Entente Orleans 45 will play against the league's second-placed JSF Nanterre (#2) and hope to win that game.
