Regular Season Round 26: Polpharma - Asseco 85-79

An interesting game took place in Starogard where higher ranked Asseco (14-12) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked Polpharma (7-19) 85-79 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-15. But Asseco won second period 23-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American point guard Anthony Miles (185-89, college: Lamar) who scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import guard Jessie Sapp (188-86, college: Georgetown) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) produced 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and the former international forward Piotr Szczotka (196-81, agency: Alti Sport) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Asseco players scored in double figures. Polpharma moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Wilki Morskie and Wikana-Start. Loser Asseco keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Polpharma will meet Wilki Morskie (#14) in the next round. Asseco will play against the league's second-placed PGE Turow (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
