Regular Season Round 25: Grissin Bon RE - Umana VE 70-67

The most exciting game of round 25 in the Serie A took place in Reggio Emilia. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Umana Venezia (18-7) to fourth ranked Trenkwalder RE (18-7) 70-67 in the game for the second place. The hosts trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 38-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Lithuanian center Darjus Lavrinovic (212-79) fired 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Lithuanian Rimantas Kaukenas (192-77, college: Seton Hall) chipped in 15 points. Croatian forward Hrvoje Peric (203-85) produced 20 points and American-Azerbaijani power forward Spencer Nelson (203-80, college: Utah St.) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Trenkwalder RE have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Umana VE. Trenkwalder RE is looking forward to face Banco di Srd (#4) in Sassari in the next round. Umana Venezia will play at home against AV Cantu and is hoping to win this game.
