Den Bosch (18-4) outlasted Groningen (18-7) in overtime by five points 84-79 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Groningen. Groningen was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 18-17 charge of Den Bosch, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 13-8. Den Bosch made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Groningen was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Brandyn Curry (187-91, college: Harvard) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and guard Chris Denson (188-91, college: Auburn, agency: Three Eye Sports) who added 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Den Bosch players scored in double figures. point guard Lance Jeter (190-88, college: Nebraska) responded with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Bill Clark (200-88, college: Duquesne) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Den Bosch have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-4 record having seven points less than leader Leiden. Defending champion Groningen dropped to the third place with seven games lost. Den Bosch will face Leeuwarden (#6) on the road in the next round. Groningen will play against Den Helder and hope to win that game.
