Regular Season Round 26: Bashkimi - Vellaznimi 76-77

The most exciting game of round 26 in the SuperLeague took place in Prizren. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Bashkimi (15-10) to sixth ranked Vellaznimi (7-18) 77-76 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 23-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Bashkimi outrebounded Vellaznimi 43-31 including a 37-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Korab Prekazi (198-92) scored 29 points to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Imer Tahiri (187-91) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. American power forward Mark Dawson (206-83, college: Long Beach St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and Bosnian forward Mujo Tuljkovic (203-79, agency: Beo Basket) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Newly promoted Vellaznimi maintains sixth position with 7-18 record. Bashkimi at the other side keeps the third place with ten games lost. Vellaznimi are looking forward to face league's second-placed Peja in Peje in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bashkimi will play on the road against Trepca in Mitrovice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
