Regular Season Round 28: FCM Ferentino - Agrigento 85-72

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Agrigento (14-13) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked FCM Ferentino (15-11) 85-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by FCM Ferentino. Agrigento managed to win fourth quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. FCM Ferentino made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Agrigento turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Markel Starks (188-91, college: Georgetown) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and the other American import forward Omar Thomas (196-82, college: UTEP) who added 16 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four FCM Ferentino players scored in double figures. At the losing side international swingman Mattia Udom (195-93) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and guard Marco Evangelisti (199-84) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. FCM Ferentino moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Agrigento dropped to the seventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Trieste. FCM Ferentino will meet league's leader Tezenis VE in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Agrigento will play against Mantovana (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
