Regular Season Round 30: Rapla - Valga Kalev 72-64

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Valga Kalev's (15-17) road loss to fourth ranked TYCO Rapla (21-11) 64-72 on Saturday. Valga Kalev was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. TYCO Rapla dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Valga Kalev's 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Croatian center Domagoj Bubalo (212-91) who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Lithuanian point guard Ernestas Ezerskis (192-87) chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. TYCO Rapla's coach Aivar Kuusmaa used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Latvian center Jurijs Aleksejevs (202-85) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and Latvian guard Reinis Strupovics (192-87) added 22 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) respectively. TYCO Rapla moved-up to third place. Loser Valga Kalev keeps the fifth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Parnu.
