Regular Season Round 21: Estudiantes - CREF Hola 60-74
Date: April 4, 2015
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Madrid: CREF Hola (#1) and ASEFA Estudiantes (#8). ASEFA Estudiantes was defeated at home 60-74 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It looked good early as ASEFA Estudiantes took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then CREF Hola had a 28-13 second period charge getting the lead and ASEFA Estudiantes was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 60-74. CREF Hola forced 25 ASEFA Estudiantes turnovers. Canadian forward Kendel Ross (185-88, college: Dayton) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and Portuguese guard Maria Correia (173-91) chipped in 15 points and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was center Mariana Gonzalez (187-88) with 19 points and 9 rebounds and forward Maria Conde (184-97) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. ASEFA Estudiantes' coach tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CREF Hola maintains first place in Group B with 19-2 record. ASEFA Estudiantes at the other side keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. CREF Hola will play against Almeria (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. ASEFA Estudiantes will play against the league's second-placed Alcobendas (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
