Very expected game when 9th ranked ADBA (6-15) lost to fifth ranked Arxil Pontevedra (15-6) in Aviles 50-55 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 55-50. Arxil Pontevedra forced 21 ADBA turnovers and outrebounded them 39-28 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Senegalese center Maimouna Diarra (198-91) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 21 rebounds. Point guard Carla Fernandez (168-89) contributed with 13 points for the winners. American-Nigerian swingman Anma Onyeuku (181-91, college: Hofstra) answered with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Lara Fernandez (179-87) added 14 points in the effort for ADBA. Arxil Pontevedra moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Cortegada. ADBA lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 15 games lost. Arxil Pontevedra will face Oviedo (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ADBA will play against the league's leader GDKO Bizkaia in Galdakao and hope to win that game.
