Regular Season Round 27: Angers BC - Evreux 81-96

Very expected game when 18th ranked Angers BC (4-23) was defeated at home by tenth ranked ALM Evreux (13-14) 96-81 on Saturday. The game without a history. ALM Evreux led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Angers BC's 36 and made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Lahaou Konate (196-91, agency: Comsport) who scored 24 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). American power forward Brandon Peterson (204-90, college: Arkansas St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four ALM Evreux players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Gregg Thondique (202-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 13 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Gaylor Curier (197-92) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. ALM Evreux maintains tenth place with 13-14 record. Newly promoted Angers BC stay dead last with 23 lost games. ALM Evreux will face higher ranked Olympique Antibes (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Angers BC will play against Poitiers (#11) and hope to win that game.
